Trace Your Family History

The KAVHA Research and Information Centre is located in one of the original, elegantly restored Georgian houses at No. 9 Quality Row, on the beautiful Kingston foreshores. It is located next door to No. 10 Quality Row house museum.

The KAVHA Research and Information Centre is open to everyone with an interest in the World Heritage listed Kingston and Arthur’s Vale site, its people and its buildings from the past to the present. Resources are available to all visitors whether professional or just curious, and includes: extensive convict records from 1788 to1856, records, reports, maps and journals from the four periods of Kingston settlement ,a reading room with our fascinating reference book collection, brochures and advice to assist with getting the most out of a visit to Kingston. Visit the centre and conduct self guided research using our extensive resources.Email kavharesearch@admin.gov.nf or drop in to organize a complete research request service with documentation and report.Staff are available to assist family researchers.

Entry fee is $5.00 per person (school students are free of charge). Assisted research is $10.00 per topic / per hour of research or, alternatively, extended research is $35.00 per topic / per two hours of research with a charge of $10.00 per topic / per extra hour thereafter. Please note that photocopying and printing charges also apply at 50c per A4 copy (black and white).
