Paraty - and exclusive on board cooking class to a selected few

Paraty – without knowing or wanting to, this small colonial city, a Brazilian National Historic Site since 1966, turned out to be a charming destination on the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.

Downtown, traffic is limited to bikes and small carriages, while automobiles are kept outside by heavy iron chains. Once a thriving port, Paraty today welcomes tourists’ from all over the world and has a very rich cultural life. It is a pleasure to discover its lovely colonial architecture, and restaurants under the supervision of international chefs who elected Paraty the place to live.

Brazilian chef Gisela Schmitt, with international experience in several countries, had a superb idea: how about cooking classes on board a schooner cruising Paraty Bay? The schooner, a boat typical of the Brazilian coast, carries a fitting name – “Sem Pressa”, meaning “No Hurry”.

Just great! Built in 2011, this handmade boat was fit to enchant and today Gisela conducts cooking classes on board. Restricted from 6 to 12 persons, her cooking classes are a treat of simple yet delicious dishes prepared with fresh seafood, vegetables and much more. A welcoming surprise!

Backstage Experience - Bird Park

Thinking about leaving his native Namibia, David Croukamp followed his dream of creating a Bird Park. There was no better place than Brazil for his life project.

A perfect spot selected with care nearby the entrance of the Iguassú National Park in Foz do Iguassu.
With an area of 16.5 hectares of subtropical forest the Bird Park opened in 1994.

Today the Croukamp family introduces a new attraction - the Backstage Experience – a 1h30 visit taking visitors behind the scenes where the challenge is: How about feeding a toucan or enjoying the chirps of just hatched bird chicks? Follow the team when preparing the food for the birds and more! Have you ever fed a toucan?
This is your golden opportunity!
