The countdown is on for the 2017 Tulip Time bulb planting launch as the Southern Highland’s prepares for its premier tourism event.

The 13-day historic festival promises to be one of the most colourful and best on record as it celebrates its 57th continuous year.

VIP’s and locals will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty on the morning of Tuesday, 2 May for the first planting of bulbs.

Event organisers are encouraging the local community and businesses to get behind this year’s festival colour theme of orange by planting bulbs, decorating their shop fronts in orange and participating in the festival street parade.

The 2017 Tulip Time Festival will take place from 12 to 24 September.
