FAMILY FUN SUNDAY A GREAT DAY OUT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Families visiting Sydney are in for a treat this Sunday with the Australian National Maritime Museum hosting its ‘Jewels of the Sea’ Family Fun Day.

Join us for special themed family fun Sundays twice a term with lively performances, film screenings, character tours and face painting.

Dive into the history and mythology of pearling, from dragons to moon drops and traders’ tales in lively and interactive performances, tours and creative activities. Enjoy face painting, bubble art displays, circus workshops, musical storytelling, character tours on pearling lugger John Louis, artmaking, games and more.

Kids On Deck 

- Dress ups, art making and games.
11am – 3pm

Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos

11am – 3.30pm


Bubble Art Spectacular 

 - Join in spectacular interactive demonstrations of bubble making and learn about the science behind bubbles.
10.45am, 12pm and 1.15pm

Jewels of the Sea circus workshops and aerial displays 

- Marvel at daring and gravity defying circus and join in interactive workshops in hooping and juggling
11.30am, 12.45pm and 2pm

Myths of the Sea 

- Musical Storytelling - Beat, whitsle, drum and chime as we adventure into the marvellous myths surrounding pearls and other treasures of the deep in musical storytelling performances with Drumbeats.
2.30pm and 3.30pm

Character Tours with Captain Shaun Scuttlebutt 

- Take a lively family friendly tour into pearling history and our pearling lugger John Louis with character guide Captain Scuttlebutt.
12pm, 1.30 pm and 3pm
