ACMI presents Family Sundays - A free event monthly all year round

ACMI has announced a brand new monthly program - Family Sundays - a day of free family friendly events and interactive activities unique to ACMI on the first Sunday of every month.

Family Sundays each month will be a day for families to come together and interact with screen culture in all its forms: from creating YouTube videos to wielding a lightsabre and belting out tunes at Frozen karaoke to painting a masterpiece in virtual reality with Google’s Tilt Brush. There is something for everyone, and it’s all free!

Alongside ACMI’s interactive exhibitions including Screen Worlds, its Kids’ Flicks cinema program and family friendly fare at the ACMI Cafe, ACMI has weekends with the family covered.

Each month, Family Sundays will adopt a theme. Family Sundays promises to be a reliable and enjoyable experience for families on the first Sunday of every month. The monthly theme allows families to return again and again assured of an entirely different experience.

Forthcoming Family Sundays themes include: Star Wars (Sun 7 May), Gameplay (Sun 4 Jun), to coincide with the opening weekend of our exclusive exhibition Wallace & Gromit and friends: The magic of Aardman, Aardman and Animation (Sun 2 Jul), Winter Fantasy and Fables (Sun 6 Aug) and Young Storytellers (Sun 3 Sep) with more to be announced soon.

ACMI - Australia’s museum of film, television, video games and digital culture - is known for its unique family experiences which are not only a lot of fun but educational, encouraging families to learn about digital culture together. Family Sundays is yet another way ACMI demonstrates its commitment to fostering the next generation of moving image-makers.

ACMI’s Family Sundays will be held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am to 4pm at ACMI in Federation Square. For more information, visit acmi.net.au/family-sundays
