Sydney Royal Easter Show: Eater Saturday Highlights

Today’s Show highlights include:

HY-LINE BROWN SCHOOL EGG LAYING COMPETITION JUDGING

Students have raised six pullets, selected their best three to compete and collected their eggs across the first ten days of the Show. These eggs are judged according to commercial Egg Laying Industry Standards so quality and quantity is key to winning.
See this competition in the Steggles Poultry Pavilion from 9am to 12pm.

YOUNG FARMER CHALLENGE

They’re skilled, they’re young and they’re farmers; watch some of the best rural youth in the State compete for the prestigious State Champion title. Take a look at what farmers face during their working days including bushfire fighting, animal handling, fencing, tractor driving and feats of strength.

Regional Finals are on from 10am to 1pm in Schmidt Arena then the State Finalists take pride-of-place in Spotless Stadium at 4.05pm.

WALK AN ALPACA

Take an exotic alpaca for an amble around an obstacle course with the help of an experienced handler. Alpacas are like small llamas or miniature camels without humps, and are curious, friendly animals who respond well to kids and people of all ages! Take the lead at 9am, 11.30am and 3pm in the Cattle & Alpaca Pavilion.

DRONES IN AGRICULTURE

Don’t miss the chance to be a virtual pilot navigating mini drones around obstacles in a rural farm scene. See how valuable remote controlled aircraft are in agriculture and just how many tasks they can perform around a property. Take to the electronic skies in the Woolworths Food Farm.

COUNTRY ROCKS CONCERT PRESENTING DREW MCALISTER & TORI DARKE

It’s your final chance to hear the best of Australian country music at Country Rocks. Tonight at 9pm you can see Drew McAlister and Tori Darke perform in The Amphitheatre.
