NEW AIRLINE TAKES OFF IN CAMBODIA

JC International Airlines officially launched in Cambodia on Saturday, bringing the number of local airlines to five, reports the Khmer Times.

JC International Airlines CEO Dongyan Huang said the airline was registered as a local company with an investment capital of $50 million.

She said the airline has two Airbus 320 aircraft with daily flights between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. Three more aircraft will be in service by the end of the year.

Ms Huang said JC International Airlines would first serve the domestic market and then expand routes to include ASEAN-member states, China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong, as well as South Korea, Japan and Europe.

So Mara, secretary of state at the Ministry of Tourism, welcomed JC International Airlines to the kingdom, saying the ministry would provide strong support to the airline in order to contribute to the growth of the tourism industry in Cambodia.
