Upscale multi-generational resorts, Montigo Resorts, Nongsa and Seminyak in Indonesia, will be participating in the world’s largest environmental movement through a series of Earth Hour and Earth Day activities – creating a better world for future generations, in line with its tagline, “For Generations to Come”.

Earth Hour, which is observed at 8.30 pm on 25 March 2017, is a collective effort by millions of people around the world to switch off their lights to advocate climate change action. Earth Day is held on 22 April this year and is currently the largest civic observance in the world to support environmental protection.

Cognisant of its social responsibility, Montigo Resorts, Nongsa in Batam and Seminyak in Bali, Indonesia, are committed to spread the word of environmental protection to international guests through a series of guest activities and promotions.

In the spirit of Earth Hour, Montigo Resorts, Nongsa will be minimising electricity consumption – switching from electrical lights to torches and candles from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Bird cage-style lamps will also be set up around the resort grounds, providing the resort with soft, ambient lighting. Guests will also be encouraged to play their part in minimising electricity usage in their villas.

Separately, Earth Day celebration activities have been specially designed to entertain as well as engage guests in playing an active role in protecting the environment. A key highlight, guests are invited to plant tropical trees at the resort’s Sand Park on 25 April 2017 – these trees will be named after the participating guests. Through this initiative, Montigo Resorts, Nongsa aims to make a direct positive impact on the environment, as well as strengthen its community of guests.
