Changes to Da Nang International Fireworks Festival's schedule

The Management Board of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 has made some changes to the schedule of this year’s event.

In particular, the opening night will now be Sunday 30 April instead of Saturday 29 April as previously scheduled. Host team Da Nang-Viet Nam and Fireevent Die Feuerwerker from Austria will display.

In addition, the torch lighting ceremonies to express gratitude to fallen Vietnamese war combatants, which were scheduled to take place at the 2 September Peace Monument on 1,8,15,22 and 29 May, have been cancelled.

During the nearly 2-month-long DIFF 2017, fascinating street festivals will take place along inner-city streets on 8 Fridays - 5, 12, 19, 26 May, and 2, 9, 16, 23 June. These events will feature parades of eye-catching flower-decorated vehicles representing the 8 participating countries, along with ones from Da Nang. They will help local residents and visitors to gain an insight into their distinctive cultural identities.

There will also be a special ‘International Cuisine Space’ which will offer an array of delicious dishes and exciting music based on the 5 elements of the ancient oriental philosophy. This event will take place on the western bank of the Han River near the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge from 6.00am to 10.00pm daily between 20 April and 30 June.

According to the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, a total of 104,630 ticketed seats to watch the fireworks displays will be available in the A, B1, B2, B3, B4, and B5 stands alongside Tran Hung Dao in Son Tra District.
