WORLD SCIENCE FESTIVAL BRISBANE

22 – 26 March
Queensland becomes the world stage to celebrate the intersection of science and art for the World Science Festival Brisbane. Through conversation and performance by some of the greatest thought leaders in the world the Festival will showcase scientists and performers from around Asia Pacific and host the brightest and best from previous events in New York. Expect a program in which astronauts share their tips for going to the bathroom in space, kids play with computer microscopes, and food trucks compete for road space with robots. Global superstars, the Dixie Chicks, are just the start of 10-year celebrations at the largest international country and roots festival in the Southern Hemisphere. JULIA CREEK DIRT N DUST FESTIVAL

7 – 9 April
Three days of jam packed adventure and old-fashioned outback hospitality keeps the droves coming to the small town of Julia Creek one weekend a year. Combining a triathlon, bog snorkeling and the Dirt n Dust bull ride, this is an event where the gutsy need only apply. MARVEL: CREATING THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

27 May – 3 September
Marvel's super heroes descend on Queensland for an epic exhibition exclusive to Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). The largest ever Marvel presentation in an art museum, it will feature comics, artwork, costumes, props and much more from the Marvel Studios films featuring Thor, Captain America and Iron Man.
