The Relish Food and Wine Festival returns to Portside Maryborough on June 6 with a fresh new program showcasing the best produce and products from across the region, as well as local cafes and restaurants, award winning wines, craft beers and gourmet food stalls.
Following the festival's success in recent years, Councillor for Events, Sport, Recreation & Open Spaces Darren Everard, said Relish was well on its way to becoming one of regional South East Queensland's signature food and wine festivals.
“Held in conjunction with our quirky World's Greatest PubFest on the Sunday it offers two days of fantastic food, wine, culture and fun creating a major incentive to visit the region,'' he said.
“The weekend provides the total foodie festival experience, from seasonal produce and local seafood, wine and cheese tastings and beer and food matching sessions.
“Add to that event sessions, cooking and coffee demonstrations from innovative chefs, wine masterclasses, cheese making demonstrations, live music, kids entertainment and more – visitors are sure to savour the moment,'' Cr Everard said.
Maryborough's magnificent Portside precinct – incorporating Queens Park, Mary River Parklands, heritage streetscapes and the Mary River – serves as the distinctive backdrop to the annual celebration of regional food and wine.
Relish will be held on Saturday, 6 June from 11am – 6pm followed on Sunday, 7 June by the World's Greatest PubFest in central Maryborough and various outlying hotels.
Tickets for Relish are now on sale and can be pre-purchased online for just $12, or for $15 at the gate. Children under 18 are free when accompanied by a paying adult, and special event sessions are extra.

The Yenda Sessions - $25 per person: Sample the latest offerings from the Australian Beer Company, the delicious Yenda Craft Beer range. Host Glenn Taylor will guide beer lovers through the finest Yenda pale ales, IPA, Golden Red and Hell Beers accompanied with a selection of sumptuous platters from chef Gavan Chin from the Federal Hotel, Maryborough. There are five 45-minute sessions from 11.30am.
WolfBlass Masterclass - $30 per person: Proudly presented by WolfBlass Gold Label and hosted on board the elegant Hervey Bay Boat Club vessel, the Amaroo, whilst cruising the Mary River, the hosted event features a selection of prestigious wines and cheese platters. There are two, 45-minute sessions departing 12pm and 1.30pm.
Relish Long Lunch - $85 per person: New to this year's festivalthe Relish Long Lunch features a four course meal from popular regional chefs, enjoyed on the Portside Deck overlooking the Mary River to the soft sounds of local entertainment. One session only for this sit-down ala carte experience, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
