One of Australia’s top food bloggers, Thang Ngo of noodlies.com fame is about to embark on a culinary journey to South Korea starting this Sunday, 1st June. Sponsored by Korea Tourism Organization and Asiana Airlines Thang will spend eight days in Korea sampling the culinary delights of the capital Seoul as well the southern port city of Busan.

Thang will explore Korea’s cuisine on all levels from fine dining to the very popular street food which is perhaps Thang’s favourite. Follow his blog from early June to see what he eats and enjoys the most from the amazingly rich food experiences in Korea.

Thang is going to learn all about kimchi, the fermented pickled cabbage served at every meal, its health benefits and more. He is going to try a Korean style BBQ, the famous bibimbap (rice and vegetables dish) as well as enjoying the wide variety of seafood in Busan at one of the largest fish markets in Asia. He will take a night street food tour in Seoul sampling all the great street food available as well as try specialty liquors like soju and the rice wine makgeolli.

Korean cuisine has become so popular in Australia in recent years and nowadays there are some excellent restaurants popping up in Australia’s major cities showcasing Korean food like Danjee and Moon Park restaurants in Sydney, Guhng in Melbourne and Giwa Restaurant in Adelaide. In this month’s Qantas inflight magazine Neil Perry of Rockpool fame writes about his love of Korean food.
