New York TV and Movie Sites Tour- On Location Tours

"Friends"
Step onto the bus and into a whirlwind of different TV and movie set locations. Your tour guide, an “in the business” actor/actress will keep you entertained as you make your way around New York City for 3 hours in an air conditioned, comfortable bus to see the locations you have only seen on your TV. Some you will recognise instantly, such as areas of Central Park featured a huge array of movies and TV including Home Alone, Enchanted, 27 Dresses and Sex and the City, and others you may have walked straight by without the inside knowledge from your tour guide.

A standout attribute to this tour is that clips from films are shown on TV screens on the bus, so as your guide explains the movie or TV show you can relate it directly back to the film it was featured in. The list is endless, but there was plenty to suit everyone’s taste in movies so you had something to get excited about.

"Ghostbusters"
The fountain which inspired the opener of ‘Friends’ as well as their apartment building, street and the theatre in which Joey would star in plays. Tiffany and Co. featuring in Audrey Hepburn’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Sandra Bullock’s “Miss Congeniality”. Will Smith’s “I am Legend” with the park he runs through and his apartment. The fire station featured in “Ghostbusters”- still running today but has kept the Ghostbusters logo on the wall. The Office building from Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep’s “The Devil Wears Prada”. The buildings “Goliath National Bank” and the bar in “How I Met Your Mother” are inspired by. “Will and Grace’s” office building. Times Square and its endless starring roles including Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3 and “New Years Eve”. These are just a few examples of what can be seen on the On Location Tour.

The bus stops at some locations with enough time to take photos, and at one stage in SOHO you have 40 minutes to shop, explore, or visit the apartment the late Heath Ledger lived and tragically passed away in.

Filming notices
If you are lucky, you might even have the privilege to see a TV show or movie being filmed right in front of your eyes! Your guide will explain how they block off areas to the Public, show you what to look for and tell you what it is really like to be on set. We saw filming for the TV series ‘Girls’ and ‘Blue Blood’, and our guide was an extra on “War of the Worlds” and “Saturday Night Live”.

3 hours is definitely long enough to fit in enough sites to last you a lifetime, and you never know which celebrity you might be lucky enough to see- we missed Hugh Jackman by 1 day. Keep those eyes peeled!
