Saturday 30 November will see professional athletes from across Australia gather for the Lithgow Flash Gift Carnival held at the Tony Luchetti Showground, Lithgow.

“I urge everyone not to miss this spectacular event, which reflects the unique character of our area and attracts visitors to both participate and to explore our beautiful region.”

A professional athletics carnival, the Lithgow Flash Gift is named for Lithgow-born Mrs Marjorie Jackson-Nelson – ‘The Lithgow Flash’— who, during an illustrious athletic career won two Olympic gold medals (Helsinki 1952) and seven Commonwealth Games gold medals.

Earlier this year, the event received $10,000 from the program and was successfully selected from 109 Expressions of Interest from across the State.

“Last year, the event drew an estimated 2,905 visitors and contributed an economic impact of over $161,000 to the local economy.”
