Fact Sheets Available on NSW Tourism

Destination NSW has prepared a series of factsheets on six international market segments travelling to Australia and NSW for the purpose of a holiday. The fact sheets have been prepared as an industry resource, particularly for delegates attending ATE 2013, to further understand each market segment, their motivations and to provide guidance on engagement with this sector.

Over the coming weeks, six fact sheets will be released, each providing a visitor profile and details about the segment’s travel preferences for the following market segments:
  • Baby Boomer holiday market - Western markets
  • Baby Boomer holiday market - Eastern markets
  • India holiday market
  • Malaysia holiday market
  • China (from primary cities) holiday market
  • China (from secondary cities) holiday market
The first international market segment to be released is the Baby Boomer Holiday Market (Western markets). Research has found 70% of the Western Baby Boomer holiday segment came to NSW from just three markets – United States (28%), United Kingdom (24%) and New Zealand (18%). The fact sheet discusses how this market segment books their holiday, their preferred travel activities and information sought when planning a trip.
