Sydney Eateries in World’s Top 101

Harry’s Café de Wheels
Three Sydney eateries have made it onto a list of the world’s top dining hotspots

In a survey conducted by Newsweek and The Daily Beast website, the legendary Harry’s Café de Wheels, the Bentley in Surry Hills and the Golden Century made the list of the world’s top 101 dining hotspots.

Newsweek commissioned 53 of the world’s top chefs to carry out this international survey of the finest and most memorable dining hotspots.

The 53 chef judges travelled the globe, visiting bistros, chic city restaurants and bustling Asian markets to sample the best of the world’s food.

The chefs raved about the Bentley’s smoked eel parfait and the Golden Century’s steamed barramundi and rated Harry’s Café de Wheels pies as ‘classic old-fashioned’ fare.

The three eateries join a long list of Sydney restaurants to feature on the world stage, with Quay, Tetsuya’s and Marque also rated as three of the world’s finest restaurants in the 2012 Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards.
