NSW'S Rising Stars in Tourism Recognised.

Minister’s Student Achiever Awards
NSW’s top tourism and hospitality students were recognised as potential future leaders in the industry at the Minister’s Student Achiever Awards ceremony held recently in Sydney.

The Parliamentary Secretary for Tertiary Education and Skills, Gabrielle Upton MP, acting on behalf of Minister for Tourism, George Souris, presented the top achievers studying tourism and hospitality with a framed certificate and prizes (a $250 cheque and a $100 gift voucher).

The NSW Minister for Tourism has been awarding high-achieving students since 1991 and the awards are an important accolade that celebrate the most outstanding tourism students in NSW.

The following 16 students received a Minister’s Student Achiever Award for their hard work, enthusiasm and drive this year:
- Brittany Ashman - Advanced Diploma in Hospitality at TAFE NSW Hunter Institute, Hamilton Campus
- Emily D’Aquino - Bachelor of Business (International) Hotel & Resort Management at Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School
- Ashley Jane Desira - Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management and Events Management at Kenvale College, Hospitality and Event Management
- Johnny El-Achkar - Certificate III in Hospitality Commercial Cookery at TAFE NSW Riverina Institute, Albury Campus
- Najwa Haddad - Advanced Diploma of Hospitality at William Blue College of Hospitality Management
- Carla Elizabeth Hiles - Bachelor of Business with a major in Tourism at the University of Newcastle
- Millie Harvey - Bachelor of Management in Tourism at the University of Technology Sydney
- Cassandra Leckie - Certificate II in Tourism at TAFE NSW North Coast Institute, Wollongbar Campus
- Aimee McNaire - Bachelor of Tourism Management at the University of Western Sydney
- Andrew Murace - Certificate III Hospitality Commercial Cookery at TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute, Campbelltown College
- Jaimi Monck - Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management at Southern Cross University, School of Tourism Hospitality Management.
- Ellen Rose-Anne Nesbitt - Diploma in Tourism at TAFE NSW Hunter Institute, Ourimbah Campus
- Ivana Petrovic - Diploma of Tourism at TAFE NSW St George Campus
- Bianca Rousek - Advanced Diploma of Events at TAFE NSW Western Sydney Institute, The Hills College

- Megumi Takayangi - Advanced Diploma of Tourism at TAFE NSW Northern Sydney Institute, Northern Beaches College
- Rebecca Wheeler-Hall - Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management at Southern Cross University, Hotel School Sydney.
