Volunteer - Be a Part of the 18th Biennale of Sydney

18th Biennale of Sydney
Biennale of Sydney volunteers have the chance to get behind the scenes, meet like-minded people and interact with artists from around the world. If you love art and have a great attitude towards interacting with the public, apply now to be a part of the 18th Biennale of Sydney: all our relations.

Volunteers are sought for the period from May – September 2012.

How you will help
Volunteers will assist across various areas of the exhibition, with the majority of positions being actively involved with Visitor and Venue Services and Invigilation.
Most volunteers will be based at the non-museum venue of Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour, which received an overwhelming response from visitors and volunteers alike in 2010.

Alongside this, a number of individuals will be offered the unique ‘hands-on’ opportunity to act as artist assistants throughout the installation period, in the weeks leading up to the opening. There will also be select opportunities within Education and Public Program, Marketing, Events and Administration.

About the 18th Biennale of Sydney: all our relations
Showcasing more than 100 established and emerging artists from 41 countries, the 18th Biennale of Sydney: all our relations will feature site-specific commissions and new collaborative work. Major venues will include the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the newly redeveloped Museum of Contemporary Art, and world heritage-listed former shipyard and prison, Cockatoo Island.

18th Biennale of Sydney
Since 1973, the Biennale of Sydney has explored varying terrains and broken new ground in each edition. Having appointed a curatorial duo for the first time, the 18th Biennale of Sydney, curated by Catherine de Zegher and Gerald McMaster, seeks to continue this history of pioneering. Based on a collaborative framework, all our relations will bring together international artists to collaborate and create artworks, exploring new ideas from unexpected voices around the world.
