Radisson Resort Gold Coast has won the Meeting and Events Australia (MEA) Queensland Award for the Best Meeting Venue for under 500 delegates for the third year in a row. The award was announced at a function in Brisbane last week.

Radisson Resort Gold Coast general manager Gerard Knight said winning the award is an honour. "The MEA Awards are judged by conference and meeting professionals, it is wonderful to be so highly regarded by your peers," he said.  "This award is a win for the resort and the region, it helps bring valuable conference business to the Gold Coast.

"This property has a number of advantages, the tranquil location within a short drive of all the regional highlights is a major advantage but the key asset is the team. Awards recognise team work, attention to detail and dedication.  It is all about the people and the effort made to ensure we impress our clients. This helps retain conference business and attract new clients.

"Every department is involved in creating an excellent guest experience. Engineering, housekeeping, the kitchen brigade, concierge and reception all contribute to the success of the property. On site partners Staging Connections, Future Therapy Day Spa, Life Change Gym and Breakpoint Tennis make a major contribution," Mr Knight said.

Mr Knight congratulated conference and events sales manager Michele Marks on winning the MEA Business Development Person of the Year. "Michele  has worked incredibly hard since joining our team just over two years ago," he said. "This award is a fantastic recognition of her achievements for this property and the industry as a whole.

"Brooke Davey is another standout team member; Brooke made the finals of the MEA Young Achiever category.  The conference and events team work under the guidance of director of marketing Suzie Jones. Suzie is an excellent mentor; she is passionate about the conference, meeting and events industry. Her belief in the development of younger industry members is reflected in their achievements," he said.

Radisson Resort Gold Coast is a 280-room property on Gooding Drive at Carrara. The resort is surrounded by golf course greens and hectares of landscaped grounds. Conference and meeting facilities include 10 meeting rooms, a pillarless ballroom, outdoor areas and exceptional business facilities.

Mr Knight said delegates appreciate the spacious guest rooms and onsite leisure facilities. "All guest rooms have either private courtyards or balconies, work desks and free internet access," he said.  "On site leisure and team building facilities include two swimming pools, day and night tennis courts, an outstanding gym, a day spa and a driving range.

"We link with five partner golf courses and a number of other tourism operators to ensure delegates can add to their Gold Coast experience with offsite adventures," he said.
