Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart

Established in 1951, PATA is the recognized authority on Asia Pacific travel and tourism. It provides leadership and advocacy to the collective efforts of nearly 100 governments, states and national tourism bodies, more than 55 airlines and cruise lines, and hundreds of travel industry companies. It has over 2,000 individual members from over 41 countries. PATA Travel Mart is the associations’ business contracting and networking event (B2B) for the travel and tourism industry aimed at providing a perfect opportunity to showcase and source out latest products and services, and updating the industry on tourism outlook and trends. More than 300 high profile buyers, 800 sellers / exhibitors and 100 media practitioners from across the world are expected to attend this Manila event.

In the past, the Philippines has also hosted several key PATA events including the 29 PATA Annual Conference and Workshop in 1980; PATA Annual Board of Directors Meetings in 1989; the 47 PATA Annual Conference in 1998; the Chapter World Congress and the PATA Board of Directors Meeting in 2002.

The forthcoming PTM2012 will give us the opportunity to showcase once again the beauty and culture of our country and the charm, warmth and hospitality of a friendly people, as well as the new tourism infrastructure in place since the last time we hosted a big PATA event in 1998. Our public and private sectors will now join hands to work for the success of PTM2012 for the sake of Philippine tourism as well as the entire Pacific Asia region.”

The event is scheduled to take place at the SMX Convention Center, the largest private venue in the Philippines and one of the flagship establishments of the country’s MICE industry. It is conveniently located within close proximity to prestigious hotels and key public transportation systems.
